Proluton Depot (Hydroxyprogesterone) is a synthetic hormone similar to the natural female hormone progesterone. It is used in the prevention of spontaneous in women with a history of recurrent miscarriage (habitual ). Spontaneous occurs when the body`s levels of progesterone drop below the required level to maintain pregnancy. Therefore this medicine is used to maintain these levels and prevent miscarriage.
Dosage and Administration

The correct dosage and preion commonly depend on the patient and the condition being treated. Do not adjust your dosage without the approval of your health care provider. This product is only for use as prescribed and instructed.

Proluton Depot (Hydroxyprogesterone) should be administered by a doctor or nurse through an injection in your local hospital or health clinic. Your health care provider will normally inject you intramuscularly in the first few months every week to prevent , if using this medication for infertility then you may be injected for 3 days once a rise in body temperature is established to help the endometrium get ready to ovulate.
